I see
that Red Herring is back in print
after an 18-month hiatus. Its new owner Alex Vieux, head of DASAR, is
someone of whom I think very highly. I first met Alex in the late 80's when he
was starting to build conferences such as his annual European Technology
Roundtable Exhibiton (ETRE) Conference, that would help connect
Today,
with dozens of successful conferences around the globe in Japan, France, Spain,
Israel and many other countries, Alex has been selected by Time Magazine as
one of the industry's "Entrepreneurs of the Year" (for the second
time running).
Alex
brought in Joel Dreyfus, a well-regarded, former editor of Information
Week and PC magazines and a former tech columnist for Fortune, to run Red
Herring Magazine.
There
are plenty of challenges for the company in taking on a well branded name, such
as Red Herring, but I have no doubt he and Joel are up to the task. Best
